Should Salesforce move beyond crm ?

Salesforce started AppExchange in 2006 to provide additional functionalities to clients from different industry domains. Salesforce is competing with Giants like Microsoft, Oracle and SAP which have got the entire basket of products for different streams like CRM, Manufacturing and sales and distribution and finance. Should Salesforce also expand its footsteps beyond CRM to attract more clients?
