What is the best software for my small business???

I am trying to figure out what is the best contact and customer management software for a small recruiting firm. I need to collect data on candidates and clients that is easily searchable. The ones I am familiar with are ACT, Goldmine, Lotus Notes and Outlook. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Salesforce.com is the best and cheapest investment

Hi Douglas,

I'd highly recommend salesforce.com for your CRM system. It's a hosted model and you pay monthly so there's no need to invest in software and installation/configuration expenses.

You should check out my blog to read more about CRM in general. It will probably answer many of your questions.

I had considered Top Producer but found an List, Contact & Automatic Response Management system

Kecia Waddell Douglas, I've searched for a solid year investigating Top Producer, ACT and others for the various small businesses I'm involved in ranging from real estate sales to ecommerce.
What I found is an email software, a database, list management software, a website with lead capture capability, an autoresponder system for both email and voice broadcasting, a contact management software plus a unique system that updates my database from voice mail without me doing anything manually because it all integrates to work together.

Now, I run all my businesses with this one program AND it's created an income stream. Honestly, the income was gravy because of the sheer NEED I had for an affordable small office - home office relationship marketing tool.

Check it out really. At a trade show the manufacturer recently participated in, a Disney employee told him that Disney had just spent 80 million on their custom package that has less features than this software. Now, this is not first hand info. I wasn't there. Please reply...
