Consumer research video platform Discuss.io has announced a new Augmented Insights suite of tools intended to deliver faster data on consumer opinions.

Leveraging natural language processing and machine learning, the solution reduces market research costs by decreasing manual work needed to convert answers into insights and by centralising data sources in a singular platform.

Understanding Consumer Sentiment

Discuss.io said among the platform’s features were sentiment analysis, tagging, tag explorer and theme identification. As a centralised store for customer conversations, the platform also offers a searchable selection of clips, enabling the discovery of themes, keywords, concepts and ideas.

“We know that our clients spend a lot of time finding and documenting insights; this remains the most important output of consumer interviews and focus groups,” said Jim Longo, Discuss.io Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer.

“With our new AI capabilities, we are solving one of the biggest problems in the MRX industry, threading a needle through thousands of interviews and enriching and transforming disorganised raw data into powerful intelligence, thus giving some of the world’s leading brands control and continuity to optimise their investments and save time and money.”

The move follows the release of other features including a Mobile Screen Sharing app allowing the viewing and recording of smartphone and tablet screens in order to understand mobile user experience.

Also released earlier this year was a Respondent Management Hub, allowing the connection of existing panels and databases to the Discuss.io platform.

“While consumer insights are increasingly important to successful, fast-paced companies, we noticed there wasn’t a solution available to streamline research project coordination in a cohesive platform,” said Ashley Wali, VP of Product at Discuss.io.

“With Respondent Management, corporate researchers are finally able to schedule, recruit, and organise research respondents in the same platform where they conduct research, enabling a more efficient and scalable solution for agencies and DIY brands.”
