I'd like to introduce to you a living directory! "What's that?" I hear you say.

Well simply put this is a directory of offerings in the field of customer management. You can access it freely to find solutions to specific operational challenges. To make it simple to find the directory is organised along 5 major lines:

The classic triumvirate of:

  • Sales

  • Service

  • Marketing
  • And two additional ones:

  • Online – for web based solutions

  • Outsourcing – for those irritating jobs you’d prefer to do at arms length.
  • Within each major line you can drill down to around 35+ more granular levels to find what you are really looking for. Follow this link and you will see what I mean. At its launch on Monday 19 June we have around 60 products and services profiled, and that's just for starters!

"Yes but what's this about a living directory?" That's a very good question. This directory is different from others you may have seen, like your Thompson’s local or Yellow Pages, or those useless ones at the back of corporate diaries because it's alive.

And before you think I might be falling into the parrot sketch, let me explain what I mean about it being alive.

In most directories, you are given names of companies selected by the publisher and usually based on some commercial consideration. The selection is cast in stone.

But this directory opens up the brave new world of Web 2.0 where the customer, consumer or member gets to take control. Each section allows you based on your own experience to rank the organisations.

What this means is that over time, the directory will have been positively vetted by the members of CMC, which means it will be far easier to find credible solutions to your specific customer management challenges.
