Another quarter, another gulf between the market research conclusions from IDC and Gartner Group about who's top of the CRM tree.
According to IDC, Siebel is still number one according to a ranking based on size and expertise in eight vertical markets. Oracle - Siebel's new owner - also does well - although given the amount of money CEO Larry Ellison has spent to buy himself that ranking it would be more surprising if it didn't!
Siebel led in five areas: financial services, manufacturing, government, utilities and healthcare.
