192.com pitches low cost identity checking at call centres

UK online directories provider 192.com is making its identity checking solution more widely available, with a push into the call centre market.

192.com Business Services made its debut at Call Centre Expo in BIrmingham with low cost identity checking as its main selling point.

The service provides telephone number verification combined with current and historical Electoral Roll data, integrated into call centre and ecommerce infrastructures through a web-based service. Live data feeds regularly update the service to ensure that records of names, addresses and telephone data are up to date. Call centre operators are able to heck the validity of new customers and integrate new contact data on the fly.

Ian Green, director of 192.com Business Services, said: "As more transactions are carried out remotely through call centres and ecommerce services, implementing fast, effective and low cost vertification procedures has become paramount to anyone selling to the consumer.

"It is paramount that UK businesses understand that the cost of combating fraud, complying with regulations and keeping up with technology does not need to be crippling."
