Contact4, one of the UK’s fastest-growing call and contact centre businesses, is behind the creation of a new operation at Dingle, County Kerry, in Ireland.

Contact 4 directors Pearse Flynn and Jim Park established their first Irish centre at Gweedore, Co. Donegal in September.

Now they have launched a second centre at Dingle Business Park, in an investment worth a total of €1.9m and creating 80 jobs.

The company, based in Glasgow, provides a range of contact and call centre services, including in-bound and out-bound management, for a range of clients in financial services, utilities and telecommunications,

The investment includes employment, training and capital grants provided by Údarás na Gaeltachta, the Irish economic development agency for the country’s Gaelic regions.

The new centre, covering 579 square metres, will be operational in January 2005, employing 70 call-centre agents and 10 management and support staff.

Contact4’s directors created an Irish company, Teagmhail an Daingin, to operate the two centres at Dingle and Gweedore, which employs 117 people.

Both centres will manage inbound and outbound campaigns for clients, including telesales, customer “win-back” and retention, appointment setting, customer satisfaction surveys, helpdesks and consultancy.

“This is our second venture in Ireland and we are developing a great partnership with the agencies there, just as we continue to grow Contact4’s operations in Scotland,” commented Pearse Flynn.

“We have an ambitious and aggressive growth plan as we develop top-class services for a range of clients in the UK and continental Europe. Dingle is the latest piece of the jigsaw and we expect to be confirming further investment during 2005.”

Mr Liam O Cuinneagain, Chairman of Údarás na Gaeltachta, said: “Údarás na Gaeltachta has been successful yet again in demonstrating that new businesses can be successfully located outside of major urban areas.”

He paid tribute to the Irish telecoms provider Eircom for its provision of high-tech communications infrastructure which enabled investments such as the this one at Dingle.
