NetSuite Beefs Up Analytics Capabilities

ASP pure-play NetSuite, which offers suites of accounting and business management applications services, announced Thursday that it dramatically beefed-up capabilities for its business-intelligence dashboards. Dashboards, which present continually updated metrics on business performance, have become among the hottest front-end applications in the BI market.

The newest version of NetSuite's dashboard includes 20 additional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Based on best practices, these pre-configured metrics include sales on a cash, billings and bookings basis; cash flow, new business generated, new customers acquired, quota-bearing and total number of employees and quotes to close. The dashboard will color code how the company varies from the industry norm on each metric - with green for better, red for worse - so that users can immediately see which issues need to be addressed.

Besides the new KPIs, the NetSuite dashboard provides improved ad hoc querying, editing, searching and sorting capabilities. Other new features include Quick Add, Quick Sort and Extreme List Editing features that allow users to update leads, create records and mark completed tasks directly within the dashboard.

The dashboard capability is integral to NetSuite's entire product line, including Oracle Small Business Suite, NetCRM and NetERP. Such tight integration enables the dashboard to drill down easily to the source providing the data for the key metrics.

The new capabilities will be available in February 2004
