Applix has named its vice president of operations and planning, Walt Hilger as chief financial officer, replacing Ed Terino who is pursuing another opportunity.
Hilger has 14 years of operations, financial planning and technology experience. As vice president of operations and planning for the past two years, his achievements included the management and consolidation of operational and ad revenue recognition activities, the successful implementation of Applix's web-based customer service solution and the streamlining of worldwide ordering processes and license and maintenance activities.
"Walt Hilger has played a key role in developing and deploying our global planning and operational," said Applix president and CEO Alan Goldsworthy. "His experience, enthusiasm make him the ideal candidate for this position."
Prior to joining Applix, Hilger was vice president of corporate finance for Cahners Business Information. Before Cahners, he was divisional business manager at Houghton-Mifflin, where he had also served as corporate manager of financial planning and analysis.
