Aspect brings in veteran as VP of advanced technical services

Aspect Communications has appointed Phil Barker as vice president of advanced technical services to develop engagements for leading-edge accounts.

Barker brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in consulting, systems integration and development, and as an independent consultant.

Aspect chief operating officer Gary L. Smith said: “Before moving to marchFIRST to handle large-scale front- and back-office systems integration, Barker directly contributed to growing Oracle’s services revenue from $30 million to more than $2.4 billion by delivering hundreds of engagements to more than 250 clients throughout the world.”

Barker held a variety of senior positions with Oracle over a nine-year period and then with marchFirst, a professional services firm where he most recently served as global leader of regional project development. He also has experience as an independent consultant and in project management with William Wilson & Associates, a private consulting firm, and with Ampex Corporation’s management information systems (MIS) organization. He holds four patents and has a bachelor of science degree in mathematical sciences from Oregon State University.
