Blue Martini shakes and stirs in manufacturing

eCRM firm Blue Martini Software has announced the general availability of Blue Martini Manufacturing, enabling manufacturers to deploy customer and partner self-service portals for marketing, sales and service through their direct and indirect sales channels.

"By providing manufacturers with customer and partner self-service portals, Blue Martini Manufacturing enables customers and partners to conveniently manage their own accounts, anytime, anywhere," said Monte Zweben, chairman and CEO of Blue Martini Software. "Blue Martini Manufacturing automates tasks traditionally done by sales more efficiently, transforming the role of sales from order takers into true consultants."

The new solution combines Blue Martini's marketing, sales and service applications with automated business processes specific to manufacturing. In addition, Blue Martini Manufacturing delivers a suite of industry-specific templates for rapid implementation, claiming it can enable customer- and partner-facing applications to be delivered in as little as 30 days.

Some of the core business processes offered through the solution include catalog and content management, marketing, commerce, channel management, lead management, distributed sales order management, and team selling capabilities.

The solution provides packaged integration with leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and supply chain management applications such as SAP and Oracle, as well as marketplaces that include CommerceOne and Ariba.
