The chief financial officer of Media Metrix and nominated CFO for the merging Media Metrix and Jupiter Communications is to leave in early November. Tom Lynch will instead become chief operating officer with an early stage financial services company, based near his home in Westchester County, New York.

“Tom has made significant contributions to the organization,” ,” said Tod Johnson, CEO of Media Metrix, who will have the same role at Jupiter Media Metrix. “We respect his decision to pursue this opportunity that he feels is simply too good to pass up. We wish Tom the very best.”

Jean Robinson has been appointed Lynch’s replacement as CFO, to take effect on the merger of the two companies later this month. She will oversee Jupiter Media Metrix’ finance, corporate administration, investor relations and legal organizations.

Robinson joined Jupiter as CFO in early 1999 and was instrumental in its successful initial public offering. She had previously working at J.P. Morgan for 16 years.
