Cognos Incorporated has announced senior executive succession changes to take place from May to November.

Senior vice president of finance and administration, and chief financial officer, Donnie Moore will retire to be replaced by Robert Ashe, who will be appointed chief corporate officer.

Ashe will combine his current responsibilities as senior vice president of worldwide customer services, with those of Moore in the areas of finance, corporate human resources, administration and logistics, information services, legal, and corporate relations. A new chief financial officer is being recruited, and they will report to Ashe.

The transition from Moore to Ashe should be completed in early November at which time Moore will continue working part-time, assisting in business development assignments and other projects.

“This is a bittersweet moment for me personally,” said Ron Zambonini, Cognos president and CEO. “On the one hand, I am sorry to be eventually losing the full-time commitment of an individual of Donnie’s knowledge, experience, skill, and integrity. At the same time, I am delighted to have an individual of Rob’s caliber to call on.

“Rob is a solid Cognos veteran who has senior line and finance experience. A chartered accountant, earlier in his career with Cognos he was vice president of corporate finance.”
