German postal service Deutsche Post is deploying a personalized, online post office built around the ATG enterprise commerce suite and relationship management framework.

The new site is intended to help Deutsche Post manage customer relationships with small to mid-size businesses that perform postal transactions online.

The site allows customers to order stamps and arrange for delivery of parcels. At the site's Info Center, customers can search for post office locations and ZIP codes. Customers can also use the site to download forms to their PCs.

It also provides access to the online offerings of Postbank, the financial services branch of the Deutsche Post World Net Group. Through Postbank, customers can print stamps from a personal computer and change local energy providers, among other self-service activities.

Postal service employees will be using the same online tools to serve customers in person. Eventually parent company Deutsche Post World Net Group will use ATG software for a number of other CRM initiatives, such as e-marketing, e-sales and e-services.
