FirePond acquires training firm

FirePond has acquired Signature Software, a training and consulting firm specializing in the construction of distributed enterprise applications.

The Minnesota-based company will eventually move in with FirePond in Minneapolis. Signature president Michael Griffith will report to Jim Rubin, FirePond vice president of professional services.

Signature organises training and free technical briefings in areas like Analytical Application Design, Java, EJB and XML. The company has developed solutions for hundreds of clients across many industries, ranging from health care, to financial and insurance, to manufacturing.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Companies which use FirePond solutions include Freightliner, ABB, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, Renault, Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Compaq, Ricoh Europe and Hitachi Construction Machinery.
