Jupiter Media Metrix has appointed Robert Becker as its new chief executive officer. Becker, who was also elected to the company's board of directors, succeeds Tod Johnson, who will remain as chairman of the board.
"Bob is exactly who we were searching for," said Johnson. "His extensive business experience and entrepreneurial energy will complement our current organization, and I am confident that he is a great fit for the company."
Becker's 25-year career includes positions in management, operations, and finance, in both a multi-billion dollar corporation and an entrepreneurial start-up. Most recently, Becker, 47, was the chairman and CEO of Infosis (recently merged with a competitor), a start-up B2B Internet services provider, targeting online content providers.
Previously, Becker spent 13 years with The Thomson Corporation, where he served as president and chief executive officer of Thomson's Intellectual Property and Automotive Group, overseeing six companies, with combined revenues of $400 million. Becker had responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the group's strategy, financial performance, and growth initiatives.
During his tenure with Thomson, Becker also served as president and chief executive officer of Thomson and Thomson and as president and chief executive officer of Thomson Transport Press.
Prior to joining Thomson, Becker spent nine years with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Becker holds a B.S. from Marquette University and an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut.
