France Telecom and Sema Group have announced that they will work together to offer an extended range of services in the area of IT disaster recovery and business continuity. This will bring together France Telecom’s skills and resources and the international reach of SG-RS, Sema’s wholly-owned subsidiary specialising in IT and business recovery solutions.

France Telecom is to hand over to SG-RS its activities in this area developed over recent years by its subsidiary Expertel Services out of two sites near Paris.

The agreement comes just a short time after Sema’s acquisition of BPSL – a disaster recovery company operating in the Irish Republic and Norway – as well as the opening of new centres in New York, Geneva, Madrid and Angers in France. Sema now has over 30 disaster recovery centres across Europe, Asia and the USA.
