Graduate Opportunities

I will be a graduate next spring, and am interested in a career in CRM. What graduate opportunities are there? From looking at your links to recruitment agencies, can you recommend any specifically aimed at graduate recruitment? Any other information, advice or links would be gratefully appreciated.

Emily,

You don't say what country you are based in, but the following applies to the UK.

Firstly, let's hope that the CRM industry has moved out of recession by next spring, or you may find it very difficult to find a position in CRM.

Your opportunities will vary depending on what your degree is in. If it's in Marketing or CRM, then you stand a good chance of getting a CRM position. Otherwise you might consider doing something post-graduate on CRM to demonstrate commitment to CRM.

Assuming you've got a relevant degree, the big consultancies (KPMG, PWC, DeLoitte's, McKinsey & Co., etc) often have graduate recruitment schemes which may get you some interesting CRM experience. Similarly the major B-C corporates in Banking, Insurance, Telco, Utilities, Retail, Leisure & Travel, may have corporate recruitment schemes, and an in-house CRM department.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Richard Forsyth
