Infinium Software is to cut its workforce as part of a plan to increase revenue and reduce expenses. At the same time, the company has appointed a new chief operating officer.
The cost rollback plan is to consolidate marketing and development organizations, cut expenses that do not generate revenue, and reduce the workforce by approximately 18%.
The new COO, John (Jack) Whyte has held many senior executive positions in high-tech industries, and led many successful consulting engagements.
“Jack brings the operational and financial expertise that will enable Infinium to enhance its operating performance,” said Bob Pemberton, CEO of Infinium. “His managerial skills will help maximize new market initiatives.”
Whyte’s appointment will allow Pemberton to focus on strategic relationships with customers, business partners, and the investment community, as well as the company’s new ASP and CRM initiatives.
“I will be focused exclusively on actions that will impact our bottom line as soon as possible,” said Whyte.
The company has more than 2,000 customers worldwide representing a variety of industries including process and discrete manufacturing, gaming and hospitality, healthcare, retail, distribution, and transportation. Founded in 1981, Infinium is headquartered in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
