New England firm reaches Fast Fifty

Breakaway Solutions has been recognized for the fourth consecutive year as part of the elite ‘New England Technology Fast 50’, a ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in the area.

Rankings are based on revenue growth from 1995-1999. Breakaway Solutions is a full service provider of integrated strategy, e-business implementation, and application hosting solutions for growing enterprises,

“This past year had many exciting milestones, including a highly successful initial public offering,” said Gordon Brooks, CEO of Breakaway Solutions.

The company’s revenues increased in 1999 from $10 million to $25.4 million. It also acquired application service providers Applica and WebYes, and WPL Laboratories.

“New England is one of the most competitive technology landscapes in the country, and to consistently be a leader in this region in year-to-year revenue growth is a remarkable achievement,” said William Lee, managing partner of Hale & Dorr, and co-chair of the Fast 50 Program.

The program is sponsored by the professional services firms of Deloitte & Touche and Hale & Dorr, in association with Mass High Tech.
