Argos has announced the appointment of Trevor Hilliard as head of financial services, as of January. Hilliard joins from Alliance & Leicester, where he was an executive director.

In his 12 years with the ex-building society, Trevor started the unsecured lending business, and its innovative MoneyBack credit card. He began his financial career in 1972 at Mercantile Credit, and has held senior positions in almost every area of personal finance, including direct marketing, credit management, banking, insurance and lending.

“Financial services is an important part of our development as a multi-channel retailer,” said chief executive Terry Duddy. “Last month we extended our range of products with the launch of the Argos store card and a home shopping credit card. Trevor Hilliard will bring a depth and breadth of experience in financial services that will be invaluable as we continue this expansion.”
