Pivotal Corporation has appointed former PeopleSoft’s former head of worldwide operations Howard Gwin to its Board of Directors.

As executive vice president, worldwide operations at PeopleSoft, Gwin was responsible for directing sales, service and administrative functions. During his six-year career at PeopleSoft, he helped build the company from less than $100 million in revenues to more than $1.4 billion. He played a key role in the acquisition of Vantive; grew European revenues by more than four hundred percent in less than two years; and doubled international revenues within a year.

Gwin subsequently became president and CEO of Solect Technology Group, a provider of billing, customer care and service management software (now owned by Amdocs Corporation). Currently, he is a management consultant working with a roster of successful technology companies.

"Howard's deep industry insight, proven track record, and extensive management expertise make him an ideal fit for Pivotal as we evolve to our next stage of growth," said Bo Manning, president and CEO, Pivotal.
