Pivotal, Microsoft and KPMG Get Set to Samba

Pivotal Corporation, Microsoft and KPMG Consulting have designed a fast-track e-Business solution especially for Latin American companies to make a fast, cost-effective transition to e-Business. The three companies made the announcement at Microsoft's Enterprise Solutions Conference in Miami, Florida.

According to Norm Francis, president and CEO of Pivotal: “We strongly believe that Pivotal's e-Business relationship management solution combined with the Microsoft Windows 2000 platform and KPMG Consulting's services is the ideal solution for Latin American companies that are ready to capitalise on the Internet. Together, Pivotal, Microsoft and KPMG Consulting are introducing a new generation of business solutions designed for Latin America which will enable companies to integrate traditional and Internet business channels.”

The demand for e-Business solutions is rapidly growing in Latin America, and is expected to increase 42 per cent annually over the next five years. Internet commerce in Latin America is expected to reach $8 billion (US) by 2005.

According to Mauricio Santillán, vice-president for Latin America, Microsoft, “Latin America is an important region for Microsoft and we are committed to working together with Pivotal and KPMG to enable companies in the region to compete successfully in the global digital economy. Through an increased presence in Latin America, Microsoft, Pivotal and KPMG will bring the most cost-effective, easily adaptable, scalable solutions for the business Internet to the region. And we will work hand-in-hand with our joint customers to provide solutions that are localised and optimised for their markets.”Abel Roberto Evelson, senior vice-president of KPMG Consulting, in charge of Customer Management Solutions for Latin America, notes that, “The increasingly competitive environment that Latin American companies face is an outgrowth of both an accelerated deregulation process and the globalisation of their economies. As leaders and innovators in Internet-based solutions, we have designed a targeted strategy that will empower companies throughout Latin America with a fast-track to a digital economy business model.”

The strategic relationship will include the development of an aggressive sales and marketing program. The combined solution will provide the highly scalable Microsoft Windows 2000 platform, the Pivotal eRelationship 2000™ solution for managing business relationships using the Internet, and KPMG Consulting's management consulting services. The solution set also meets the requirements for fast implementation times, integration of traditional and Internet business channels, and the flexibility and scalability to expand as needed.The Pivotal eRelationship 2000 solution holds the current eBRM world record for scalability on the Microsoft Windows 2000 business Internet platform, benchmarked at 20,000 concurrent users averaging less than one second in response time.

Pivotal solutions are sold in 34 countries and are available in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Japanese and Chinese.
