StepStone, Europe’s career and recruitment portal, is to standardize on Siebel eBusiness Applications. By creating a single, comprehensive multichannel information management system, Siebel will enable StepStone’s staff to work seamlessly with each another and with customers, across numerous European locations and multiple channels – phone, e-mail, web, fax or face-to-face.
StepStone has one of the largest employment databases on the Internet. More than 11,000 employers such as Nestlé, Nokia and Ericsson depend on it to find personnel in ten European markets, and its web site attracts three million users each month.
Forrester Research predicts that within five years, one-stop recruiting sites will account for 55% of the $7.1 billion online market.
Customers can integrate their site so that job applications are directed to the online recruiting company. Stepstone recognized the need for a central repository for information from these multiple channels, across locations, languages and currencies. Its representatives currently rely on manual record keeping, phone calls and e-mails.
“Successful multinational online recruitment depends on relationships and responsiveness, and we cannot afford to exclude or favor a particular means of communication with our clients. We found Siebel to be the only provider with proven multichannel solutions, backed by an international reputation – and that made our choice clear,” said Simon McKinnon, chief technical officer at StepStone.
“Siebel eSales is proving easy to configure and deploy to our European field sales force, as well as to integrate into our back office operations,” said McKinnon.
StepStone operates in the UK, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Italy and India. It has over 1,500 companies, public sector employers and recruitment agencies as contract customers, a database of 316,000 CVs, and 100,000 jobs listed on its web-sites.
