Verticalnet EVP and chief financial officer Gene Godick is resigning to pursue entrepreneurial interests. Chief operating officer David Kostman will take over as interim CFO.
Godick will remain with the company until the end of October, through the announcement of the company's 3Q results on the 25th, to ensure a smooth transition.
"Gene has been with this company from its early days, and has played an important role in Verticalnet's success," said Verticalnet CEO Mike Hagan. "He successfully managed the financial infrastructure that has supported our rapid growth from before our initial public offering through the present."
Prior to joining Verticalnet in 2000, David Kostman was managing director in Lehman Brothers' investment banking division where he was head of their Internet B2B Group and responsible for coverage of Israeli technology companies. Kostman has a law degree from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau.
