Winn-Dixie Stores, a US-based grocer, is implementing Workbrain’s employee relationship management (ERM) suite to automate its workforce management processes in a bid to control labour costs and boost customer service.
Workbrain’s RetailERM won out in a rival bid against ERP incumbent PeopleSoft, with its equivalent Human Capital Management offering.
The packages will be deployed across more than 1,070 retail grocery stores, distribution centres and manufacturing plants, and will automate operational HR processes such as leave and employee time and attendance relating to about 110,000 staff.
The aim is to enable managers to generate real-time reports on workplace metrics such as departmental staffing needs and compliance with labour law requirements, enabling them to manage personnel more efficiently.
As the application suite is web-based, staff will also be able to access it from home and using mobile devices in order to switch shifts or bid for different ones online. They will also be able to schedule vacations, change personal information, request training and requisition uniforms.
