- iPhone 3GS has enjoyed phenomenal sales
- Salesforce.com, Omniture supporting the new release
- iPhone App Store breeding a new generation of business apps
With one million new iPhone 3GS handsets snapped up in the first three days of release, Apple's mobile device seems set to reinforce its status as the platform of choice for business applications.
CRM firm Salesforce.com, which was one of the first enterprise vendors to support the phone, and web analytics provider Omniture were among the first of the leading business apps vendors to announce support for the new version of the iPhone.
An updated version of the Salesforce CRM Mobile app from Salesforce.com exploits the iPhone's newly acquired cut/copy/paste functionality and delivers several new features. Other new features include record cloning which allows users to create a record for an additional contact at an existing client, custom filtering of any list and a date-indexed view with a calendar-like interface.
