Oracle strikes back at SAP with in-memory data management offering

Oracle is squaring up to rival SAP's Hana in-memory technology this week with the release of its own in-memory database.
Oracle’s TimesTen In-Memory Database 11g Release 2 is ready for use in the Exalytics appliance and promises real-time performance for transactions and analytics.
Scalability and performance improvements offered by the TimesTen upgrade will enable it to support more concurrent users, higher volumes of requests, and more sessions, according to claims by Oracle.
