Delays hindering initial iAd campaigns

Advertising campaigns using Apple’s mobile platform have been slow to launch as agencies have struggled to master the new system and deal with the vendor’s tight rein on the creative process.

According to the Wall Street Journal, of the 17 partners that Apple unveiled when opening its iAd mobile advertising service for business on 1 July, only Unilever and Nissan rolled out their campaigns later that month.

Walt Disney Co and JC Penney have since followed suit, but Citigroup is taking a "phased approach and working closely with Apple to ensure everything is working properly", a spokeswoman said after WSJ sources indicated that the campaign was late.
