Mobile and video making major impression as online ad platforms

Mobile and video advertising are gaining traction in the UK with one in four smartphone users exposed to mobile advertising and nearly two our of three online video viewers are exposed to video ads.

New research from comScore, a digital media analyst, published this month found that mobile and video advertising now reach a sizeable percentage of the UK’s total audience. In June 2011, 63.1% of online video viewers in the UK were exposed to video ads.

Among the total number of smartphone users in the same time period, 25.4% recalled seeing an ad while browsing the Internet or using an application on their devices. In comparison, 95.3% of fixed line Internet users were exposed to online display advertising, the study found.
