Tesco is trialling a new ‘share and earn’ Facebook scheme that allows customers to earn double Clubcard points when they like, share and buy products with Tesco direct.
Customers who wish to participate must register for Tesco’s ‘share and earn’ app via the brand’s Facebook page, which currently has over 80,000 followers.
Members must then post any products they ‘Like’ to their Facebook wall via the share and earn button on the supermarket’s ecommerce site.
Additonally, if their friends act on the recommendation and buy the item, both the ‘sharer’ and the purchaser will earn the Clubcard points for that purchase.
Matthew Entwistle, MD for General Merchandise Online from Tesco, said: “More and more of our customers are using Facebook to chat about and recommend products they like from Tesco direct. And we know our customers also like to collect extra Clubcard points, so we're really pleased to offer them a fantastic way to do both things at the same time.”
The trial is expected to take place over four weeks.
