Web publishers predict "extremely strong" growth through digital advertising
Online display, video advertising and paid-for services will all drive digital revenue growth over the year ahead, according to the Association of Online Publishers.
A survey of the body’s 1,500 publications and brands, which include the Guardian Media Group, Channel 4 and News International, indicated that, despite a bad year last year, every single one expected positive growth during 2010, with about half forecasting "extremely strong" growth of 10% or more.
Tim Cain, the AOP’s head of research and insight, told the Guardian newspaper: "There is a bullish and optimistic view of the year ahead – in the last quarter [of 2009], we saw a significant increase in digital revenues, a significant upward turn."
