Google+ business profiles nearing launch

Google has said it is close to unveiling Google+ business profiles, after ditching its invite-only programme in the past week and starting to promote registrations from its daily homepage.

Speaking at Ad Age's Digital West conference last week, Google’s group product manager for social advertising Christian Oestlien said the launch of Google+ business profiles allowing companies to create pages and circles like those of an individual user of the social network, was imminent.
 
 
So far only two brands have the official go-ahead to test Google+; automotive giants Ford and General Motors. But that hasn’t stopped several unofficial business profiles being set up and already appearing on the network, including Burger King, Starbucks and The Wall Street Journal.
