Social media investment growing with social gaming and service on the rise

More than half of brands plan to increase their social media expenditure in a bid to improve customer service this year, with the currently niche adoption of gaming techniques such as top customer charts also expected to grow.

According to a survey among more than 1,000 internet professionals undertaken by digital marketing and ecommerce researchers Econsultancy and digital agency cScape, some 58% intended to invest in upping their social networking presence this year, a rise from 36% in 2010.
