Yammer has announced the first big updates to the enterprise social network since Microsoft acquired the firm in June.
Designed to improve the user experience and discoverability of people, content and conversations, the first new feature is Inbox, which aggregates @ mentions, group announcements, private messages and conversations within one place, and is also accessible on iOS and Android.
The company also launched a new homepage which highlights the files and pages most actively shared, provides fast access to official content such as HR policies and pins announcements above the feed when unread.
Additionally, the new Online Now feature allows users to see who is available whilst the redesigned navigation capabilities provide quick access to people, content and third-party applications.
Yammer is also now integrated into the social media management platform Hootsuite, enabling users to post updates, attachments and search for content within the API. Other integrations include Get Satisfation, FuzeBox, Bevalley, If This Then That (IFTTT), Mindflash, Mindjet, and Zapier.
