Appirio has acquired Salesforce.com implementation consultancy Infowelders to boost its mobile cloud development capabilities and add six applications to its family of reusable software components.
The move follows hot on the heels of the vendor’s first purchase last month in the shape of the TRE3 Group, which provides sales force automation and social CRM-related services. The move was intended to build up the consultancy side of Appirio’s business, which implements and manages Software-as-a-Service offerings built around Salesforce, Google, Amazon and Workday.
The firm also sold its SaaS-based Professional Services Enterprise offering to Financial Force earlier this year.
Chris Barbin, Appirio’s chief executive explained the rationale behind its latest purchase: "Demand for Salesforce and Force.com has dramatically increased in the last year, as evidenced by our own triple digit growth and the 92,000 companies that now count themselves as Salesforce customers."
Infowelders was set up in June 2004 and specialises in selling SaaS-based sales force automation and service offerings as well as providing custom development activities.
Current applications include ‘Revenue Heat Map’, a Salesforce add-on that enables users to see sales trend information, and ‘Account Lifetime Value’, an Adobe Flex graph add-on to enable users to see how much revenue each of their customer accounts has generated. The packages will be included in Appirio’s Cloud Asset Library of reusable Salesforce components.
Infowelders currently has more than 250 customers, including Jack Daniels’ manufacturer Brown-Forman and North American membership buying service DirectBuy. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of this month.
