11th Apr 2011
Share this content’s new purchase Radian6 has teamed up with three semantic analysis firms to create an ‘Insights’ service that enables customers to understand social media trends more effectively.

The Software-as-Service firm, which enables users to track and analyse the impact of their social media efforts, is in the process of integrating technology from Klout, OpenAmplify and OpenCalais into its dashboard. The aim is to enable customers to drill down into topics and view additional information such as age range, location and influencer score.

Klout is a tool that measures a brand’s online influence, while OpenAmplify identifies individual influencers on topics being discussed across the social web. OpenCalais, however, is freeware that enables organisations to tag people, places facts and events in their content in order to improve their search engine rankings and reader engagement as well as create search-engine-friendly ‘topic hubs’.

Genevieve Coates, community manager at Radian6, said in a blog: "Have you ever spent days combing through thousands of posts and hoping to understand what people are talking about? Looking for that one trend hidden away that will make your social media investment tried, tested and proven? Have you ever wondered about insights such as age rage, gender, location, trend of conversation or countless other stats that are important to your company? Today, we take a step towards turning that curiosity into knowledge."

The social media monitoring firm has also integrated a homegrown tool into its dashboard to enable users to establish how many people have re-tweeted posts. It likewise plans to add support for tools from CRM sentiment and text analytics software, firm Clarabridge, PeekYou, which enables users to look for the profiles and contact details of UK consumers, and another text analytics firm, Lexalytics.

In addition to these announcements, the new Radian6 Summary Dashboard will build on the existing Analysis Dashboard to provide instant high-level views with little configuration, while Radian6 Mobile will allow users to stay on top of conversations on the go via iPhone and iPad.
