Relationship marketing

What is relationship marketing?

Definition of relationship marketing:

Relationship marketing is about establishing, maintaining and nurturing relationships with consumers.

It’s a long-term play that focuses on customer loyalty and engagement, rather than acquisition.

The logic behind relationship marketing is that it will deliver repeat customers who will generate more revenue than a one-off sale.

It also works because common sense dictates that it costs more to acquire new customers than it does to keep the ones you’ve got happy.

Do you get vouchers from your local supermarket? Or emails from a company on your birthday? That’s relationship marketing.
