VMware has snapped up analytics platform Log Insights, its team and technology from owner Pattern Insight.
The analytics tool processes and analyses large amounts of data in real-time to help organisations identify problem patterns in data centres and Cloud environments.
CEO and co-founder of Pattern Insights said in a blog post: “We anticipate that the potential of the Log Insight technology will be maximized through this acquisition. VMware is ideally positioned in the middle of two of the most important shifts in IT in the recent years, virtualization and Cloud Computing. It therefore provides the perfect home for Log Insight and the team to continue innovating.”
Following the sale, Pattern Insights will continue to focus on its other product Code Insight – an analysis tool that helps vendors with quality assurance.
The news marks the latest in a string of purchases for VmWare following previous acquisitions in the Cloud space, such as DynamicOps and Nicira.
