Quake doesn’t shake salesforce.com foundation

Honolulu Governor Linda Lingle has announced that salesforce.com has been the principal donor in the $600,000 private donations made to date to assist in relief and rebuilding since the October 15th earthquake.

The salesforce.com Foundation represents members of the salesforce.com community including customers, employees and partners, and pushes chairman and CEO Marc Benioff’s message of giving "one per cent of time, one per cent of equity, and one per cent of product back to the [general] community."

"I am once again grateful for the compassion and generosity of our community," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of salesforce.com. "Philanthropy and a commitment to social service are woven into the fabric of the salesforce.com culture and have been core values from our inception.

"This donation demonstrates the great results that can be achieved by extending that commitment out beyond the corporation itself to leverage a community of customers, partners and employees."
