SAP has announced that Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has selected MySAP.com as the global eBusiness platform for its operations. AMD is a supplier of integrated circuits for personal and networked computer and communications markets; SAP is the world’s leading provider of eBusiness software solutions.

AMD, one of the world’s largest chipmakers, will implement a wide range of MySAP.com solutions, including MySAP? Workplace? and MySAP Business Intelligence (MySAP BI), to cut costs and increase revenues, as well as to enhance visibility into its own business processes and data to make informed decisions.

“We are implementing the MySAP.com solution primarily because of the robust product functionality it offers our business,” said Fred Mapp, vice-president of information technology and chief information officer, AMD. “SAP understands our business needs, and its products can help us improve operating efficiencies and enhance our ability to manage our business strategically.”

MySAP BI will provide AMD with an integrated view of its business by improving information quality to support strategic enterprise management. The solution will allow AMD to analyse vital information, such as the performance of materials and vendors, to promote cost savings across the organisation and improve value in its supply and demand chains.

AMD will use MySAP Workplace to provide a personalised role-based enterprise portal for all internal and external users to access information, applications and services inside and outside the enterprise. This collaborative portal will give employees access to information in a fast and efficient manner.

“We understand that AMD needs to be a strong competitive force in its fast-paced integrated circuits business environment,” said Wolfgang Kemna, member of the extended management board of SAP AG and chief executive officer, SAP America. “We are proud that AMD selected SAP to help it grow revenue and increase market share through our comprehensive MySAP.com solution. We look forward to celebrating many business successes with AMD in the future.”
