SalesLogix Corporation, a provider of front-office and e-commerce software, has announced that Stephen L. Hansen, CEO of, has joined its Board of Directors.  

Hansen, formerly COO and CFO at GeoCities, was responsible for planning and directing all worldwide financial, strategic and administrative affairs for the personal web page publisher owned by Yahoo! Hansen adds further Internet expertise to the SalesLogix board.

According to a press release, Hansen, 43, was recently named CEO of, the first digital music network that enables its users to interact and collaborate with top artists in the music industry. In November 1997, Hansen joined GeoCities as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in May 1998. 

He managed the company's final round of private financing with SoftBank Corp. in December 1997, its IPO in August 1998, and its sale to Yahoo! earlier this year. Most recently, Hansen headed the integration of GeoCities with Yahoo!, which has resulted in the combination of two of the Internet's largest services.

Prior to joining GeoCities, Hansen served for five years as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Recreation Division of Universal Studios. There, his duties included the financial oversight of the domestic and international Universal Studio and Universal City sites in Hollywood, Japan and Florida, including raising $2.1 billion in financing for theme park and hotel expansion in the United States, and the $1.3 billion financing of Universal Studios Japan.

Hansen started his career at KPMG Peat Marwick in the Entertainment, Media and Technology Group. During his 13 years at KPMG, he focused on publicly traded and privately held companies in the motion picture, television, music and technology industries.
