Marketing automation vendor Prime Response has named Sol Watchtel as vice president of customer support to expand upon client service procedures at Prime Response's multiple customer sites.  Also new to Prime Response are two high-tech veterans - Paul Lavallee and Fred Phillips.  Lavallee takes the helm as President - Americas, while Phillips joins as Chief Financial Officer.

Wachtel's position has been newly created to build upon existing customer support-sites, as well as develop additional operations and functions for new customers using the recently launched [email protected]™. 

With more than 15 years experience in building and maintaining global customer support operations in the software industry, Wachtel was most recently the director of application support at Cambridge Technology Partners (NASDAQ: CATP) where he launched a maintenance practice for custom business applications.

A glance at his past reveals stints at InfoMation Publishing and FreeMark Communications managing the companies' customer support operations, and at Dun & Bradstreet Software, as director of worldwide support, where he re-engineered business processes, incorporating enhanced technology that resulted in improved efficiency in product maintenance and rapid response to customer issues. Wachtel achieved recognition for consolidating Dun & Bradstreet Software's European and Pacific Asia support functions into one, fully integrated Global Support Center. 

Wachtel also held tenure at The Forum Corporation for five years as a division controller responsible for the Firm's contract and accounting functions. He is a Northeastern University BA graduate and a member of the Help Desk Institute and Software Support Professionals Association. 

Lavallee-who reports to the Company's CEO Peter J. Boni-will manage Prime Response's American operations, and, will be responsible for expanding market acceptance of the Company's recently launched e-marketing software solution, [email protected]™.

Lavallee's history includes a period at systems developer FirePond, where he initiated the company's vertical sales strategy, helped transform the Americas revenue stream from custom solutions to package driven solutions, and saw in a 40 percent revenue gain in one year. Lavallee also served as president of the Americas for Systems Software Associates, after spending time with,, Boston Software,, Eyretel,, and Mapics. He also has two start-up successes to his credit, both successful and subsequently acquired.

Fred Phillips signs on with Prime Response with more than twenty years of strategic financial and operational experience. As Chief Financial Officer, Phillips will be responsible for establishing and managing Prime Response's financial strategies.

Phillips served as vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer at Cayenne Software (now part of Sterling Software), as treasurer at Lotus Development Corporation and as vice president of Mellon Bank.
