Bluetooth gets another bite at the mobile market

Ericsson is to form a new company to license Bluetooth technology - for solutions ranging from hardware and software, to knowledge, training and support.

To date, 2000 companies have joined a special interest group to produce Bluetooth products. Ericsson’s new company will license its Bluetooth intellectual property to chip and module manufacturers, as well as the bigger manufacturers specializing in mobile devices.

Jörgen Neckmar has been appointed acting manager for the new company, which employs around 100 people.

Ericsson is a communications supplier, involved in creating the new era of mobile Internet, which employs 100,000 employees in 140 countries. The company provides total solutions covering everything from systems and applications to mobile phones and other communications tools.
