Switchboard has launched a completely new central business directory, specially designed for ChamberBiz, an online resource for small businesses. The directory brings free online yellow and white pages, mapping services and driving directions to small-business owners across the United States.

Switchboard and ChamberBiz are offering customized versions of the new directory to state, local and regional chambers of commerce. Already over 300 state and local chambers have signed up to build the directory into the home pages of their websites.

Mark Canon of Switchboard, said, “We know that the best way to reach small-business owners is through strong partnerships with organizations that they trust and turn to.”

“We are using technology to give small businesses a leg up on their competition, and working with Switchboard helps us do that,” said James Dodwell of ChamberBiz.

“ is the Internet’s answer to the yellow pages, but on a national scale. Our goal is to vastly increase the visibility of local businesses in the eyes of online and mobile consumers. Switchboard is building the richest possible Internet-powered directory of local businesses information and syndicating that information to portals, specialty websites, and mobile devices,” added Doug Greenlaw, CEO of Switchboard.

ChamberBiz helps small businesses gain a competitive advantage by providing networking opportunities, practical solutions and technological resources while saving time and money. It has partnerships with the US Chamber of Commerce, local and state chambers and the American Chamber of Commerce Executives Association. Chamberbiz is funded by Telcom Ventures, of Alexandria, Virginia.
