Leading financial services group, Clerical Medical, has signed a contract to use Protagona, the experience management system from Recognition Systems Group plc. Clerical Medical joins several other insurance companies who have decided to go with Recognition Systems, including Aegon Insurance, Prudential Insurance Company of America and Guarantee Reserve Life Insurance Co. (GRLI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Irish Life.

Andy Dunne, database marketing manager for Clerical Medical said, "The adoption of Protagona is very exciting and demonstrates further our commitment to developing the way that we support independent financial advisers."

Clerical Medical decided to purchase Protagona after comprehensive research into best practice software for campaign management. This was followed by formal invitations to tender and detailed analysis of responses before Clerical Medical decided to use the Protagona solution. Dunne added that a particular attraction of Protagona is the comparative ease of use.

"I was particularly keen that the application chosen supported our business strategy of providing a high level of tailored support for IFAs and their clients. It is a tool for numerate marketing professionals with a capability to exploit data for strategic campaign management. It can be used and deployed easily across the business."

Bryan Black, Chief Executive of Recognition Systems commented, "We are excited to have this opportunity to join the strategic direct marketing efforts of Clerical Medical.   Our Protagona product will become a major system in support of their marketing strategies allowing them to achieve a faster return on investment."

The initial implementation of Protagona is scheduled for November this year, starting with seven users, growing to 15 next year. Further development is planned, including Web site integration and other e-commerce applications.
