Cognos has acquired Chicago-based Johnson & Michaels, which offers education and consulting services, and works with business intelligence technology in data warehouse environments.
“The acquisition of Johnson & Michaels enhances our position as a strategic provider of enterprise solutions to global 2000 companies and will accelerate the expansion of Cognos software across these organizations,” said Rob Ashe, Cognos senior vice president of worldwide services.
“Cognos is the only company in the market segment with a complete solution, from products to services, consulting, and customer support and education,” said Ashe.
The zero-footprint Cognos solution is ideal for large-scale web deployments to thousands of internal and external users, according to a report issued by the Hurwitz Group in July.
Terms of the sale of Johnson & Michaels, which is privately held and employs 19 consultants, were not disclosed.
