Marks & Spencer can now receive instant updates on deliveries nationwide, thanks to new web-based software. Since deploying the solution, supplier dispatch efficiency has improved by 24%.
Tibbett & Britten, the logistics company for Marks & Spencer’s UK stores, has implemented an online business intelligence solution to improve efficiency and cut costs. The reports can be accessed (via an extranet) to provide detailed delivery times and performance.
The solution from Cognos has proved invaluable in improving the performance of Marks & Spencer’s supply chain.
"We essentially became a victim of our own success," said Dave Vokins, European business intelligence manager, at Tibbett & Britten. "As more data was made available, we became overwhelmed with requests for information and needed a solution to enable us to share it easily.
"The Cognos solution gives us an insight into the supply chain operations. We can monitor the performance of the entire distribution network as a time-driven business, as well as analyse trends and plan further improvements."
