Andersen Consulting has announced an alliance with Impress to allow industries to expand their web markets via seamless, real-time connections with partners.
“This alliance will help companies take control of their e-business destiny,” said Marc Elmhorst, co-CEO of Impress. “As business models become more complex, companies need robust network connectors that can seamlessly join them to all their business partners, regardless of the number or complexity of the systems involved. Customers will benefit in taking their operations to the next level of collaborative e-business.”
Companies in the auto, industrial equipment, pharmaceutical, consumer package goods, retail and transportation and travel services industries will be able to connect existing processes with the Internet.
“We are pleased to form this alliance, which will build our leadership position in providing solutions for the B2B market,” said Eberhard Fledel, partner in Andersen Consulting. “Together we can help businesses take advantage of emerging technology without the major investment needed to create an entirely new system.”
Andersen Consulting and Impress will jointly market Impress’s Online Information System software suite to targeted business partners and customers, to expand the reach of both organizations in the growing B2B marketplace.
The initial scope of the alliance covers North and South America, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom and France and South Africa. Andersen Consulting will take an equity position in Impress and become its preferred integration supplier, in addition to receiving fees for its consulting services.
