
Compaq has appointed Robert Fedder as director of Strategy & Marketing for the UK and Ireland (UK&I). Fedder reports to Rene Schuster, the newly appointed chief executive.
Fedder will be responsible for exploring new technologies, strategic alliances and mergers, and will sit on the management board.
Commenting on this appointment, Schuster said: “The longer I spend at Compaq, the more I realise that the breadth and depth of the organisation’s skills is one of the industry’s best kept secrets. Robert will transform people’s perception of the Compaq of today and will be instrumental in shaping the Compaq of tomorrow.
“Robert will play a central role in presenting a unified face to the market across operations. Having worked with Robert at KPMG, I am confident that he will make a significant impact on success in the UK and Ireland, a critical territory for Compaq,” concluded Schuster .
Before joining Compaq, Fedder was director at KPMG Consulting focusing on e-Business and mobile commerce. He was previously director of Business & Market Development at EDS, having been head of Strategy and Marketing services for A.T.Kearney.
Fedder also held senior positions at Cadence Design Systems and PA Technology, and has worked extensively across Europe, North America, Japan and Australia.

Compaq was established in the UK in 1984 and is headquartered in Richmond, Surrey.
